About Us

We are a South African Award Winning, non profit organisation, operating in different corners of the country. We create access to sport at grassroots, and pride ourselves in reaching out to Mzansi’s most remote and disadvantaged areas.

We established in 2011, and have since developed and implemented programmes that have added tremendous value to existing structures, such as growth in federations membership, utilising municipal facilities, increasing school sport participation, combining arts, culture and heritage with sport, and we developed a unique Life Skills development programme in partnership with Unicef.

Why children like us

Mass participation / Sport 4 ALL

We center our programmes around inclusion. For example: we don’t play football 11 vs 11 on one big field. But rather have the field cut into 12 smaller 5-aside fields to cater for 120 participants. That way EVERYONE can join in! That way we inspire ALL children and youth.

Local programs, local coaches

Your coach should be around the corner. Available everyday. That’s why we go out there and ensure community volunteers are trained into skilled facilitators and coaches.

Variety of sporting activities

At Mavu we don’t limit the amount of sports, but ensure kids get introduced to several sporting codes, which can inspire and shape their future. Our events are packed with introductions to boxing, tennis, running, basketball and a dozen of other activities!
